Introduction

To make learning about Sneezesafe more fun and provide interaction for students, three animated presentations called Sneezesafe stories have been developed to be presented to the whole class on an interactive whiteboard. These stories are also available as downloadable PDFs for use offline. The aim of the stories is to introduce students to the concept that colds are spread by germs, which are too small to see with the naked eye. Students will be shown that the spread of colds can be prevented by adopting good respiratory hygiene principles including the proper use of facial tissues for runny noses, coughs and sneezes. The stories are a fun way to learn about correct respiratory hygiene practice and use two friendly cartoon characters, Suki Sneeze and Nathan Noseblow, to get across the important messages that students need to learn in order to counteract the spread of viruses both at home and at school.
